Mosaic craft was born in the workshops of Damascus centuries ago: sawing wood, bundling veneers, setting shell — a science passed from master to maker.

Thousands of small pieces of walnut, lemonwood and rose are bundled, sliced and fitted edge to edge — the pattern emerges from the wood itself, never painted on.
Arriving in Doha
We carried the craft to Qatar to be close to its majalis and refined taste — an atelier working the original way in the heart of the Gulf.

Four acts of patience
1Sawing
Selecting the wood and cutting it into fine rods in natural shades.
2Inlay
Setting natural shell flush into the wood, piece beside piece.
3Pressing
Compressing the layers until they fuse into a single inseparable body.
4Polishing
Smoothing and buffing until the surface turns to mirror and the shell to light.
